I got a new job offer from a sales/training company. Actually, I was not expecting a one day hiring process. I knew in my heart I’m not a sales type of person. I applied for the position of Sales Account Manager out of frustration. During the job interview the VP of the company was impressed on my computer skills. So right now I’m assuming that I would be placed under the computer training account.
At first, I should familiarize myself about the product of the company and so I’m doing a research about the pros and cons of Onsite Computer Base Trainings. Since the company that i will work for is selling computer training programs for corporate accounts. I wonder how I would market the product. Learning the benefits of this is the best marketing strategies.
I learned that Computer Based training or onsite training could save a lot of money and time. Trainees would not have to waste numerous hours to travel while the trainees are available whenever the need of the company arises. As for the Company they would have the ability to customized training modules and adjust training time and eliminate travel and accommodation cost.
Although, a friend of mine told me that onsite training or computer-based training still needs a trainer in order to facilitate the program. My friend got a point out there. Well, for the benefits of the Trainer, the trainer won’t have to waste his precious time and expertise in order to create modules and topics. It would be a stress free responsibility for the trainers. However, if the computer broke down, the trainer is expected to become the expert computer technician. In computer-based training there's a possibility of unexpected increase of trainees. In that case, this kind of situation can be handled immediately with no sweat at all.
This is an interesting topic to discuss. Not all companies are open to such training modules which they still prefer to have there own in-house training. However, as far as my research leads me company would benefit from this a lot.
