It is estimated that the number of employments of registered nurses is going to increase at a rate much faster than any other occupation by 2010 as many current nurses are on the edge of their retirement opening thousands of spots in coming years. As a matter of fact, nursing is currently the only largest health care field in United States with over 2.7 million registered nurses. Not only that as we find the increase in the number of specialized medical areas and practices being involved into surgeries and other operations, the demand for specialized nurses are increasing in some of these important areas like the outpatient facilities, nursing homes and home healthcare, emergency room care, critical care, mental health care, oncology, geriatrics, pulmonary, pediatrics, obstetrics etc.

A nursing degree is always going to keep you one step ahead of others which ensures that you have undergone proper training and you are out of the college fresh. This will also get you into a decent paying salaried position with promising career ahead. Every year majority of nursing school are flooded with loads of applications for the trainee position to learn nursing and not all of them get trained at the college they would want to. You don't have to worry as there are tones of such schools which can enroll you and provide excellent standard training.

For those of you who find it difficult to attend a course at the university or specialize nursing schools can still enroll for the online course which can help you gain the same amount of knowledge except for the hand on experience.

Nursing Job market also demands of those who have specialized in Master degree in Nursing Science which is regarded at the most demanding degree with high pay scale. This would allow a person to get a managerial position and cater the responsibilities of inventories and other records of medical imaging supplies and others supplies etc.

Those with master's degree can still move ahead with further studies as the job market is growing with the demand of those who can run and manage community health systems, psychological nursing, elderly nursing, heath care systems administration and finally family nursing keeping the track of medical surgical supplies and all other relevant records.

Remember the fact that getting a nursing job is not a problem as long as you are qualified and have the passion for nursing. Follow the procedure where you can find a decent recruiter who have the contacts and can guide you to a better area in nursing. Forward your resume to many other hospitals or private organization in need for qualified nurses even if you have to get into a trainee position, take it as this is going to be for your betterment only.

Although you will find more women into the nursing position than men, the men population is slowly but steadily increasing day by day and by the year 2006 men have made up to 8.5% of total nursing population in and around United States.
